Coolant Temp High.....need help!

2008 TC

-Recently i have noticed tthe normal operating temp is running higher than it should be.
-Did some research on css and google.
-Normal operating temp is 88c-92c (or 180f-200f)
-Currently been running avg temps of 96c
-car is approaching 5 years which is what the dexcool is rated for so i changed it today along with the thermostat
-thermostat internal seal was beginning to go looked not so healthy
-mixed myself, prestone gmdexcool 70/30ish mix

heres the issue, its still running out of the 'normal op temp' between 92c-96c (lower than bf as it fluctuates now between 92-96, before it held steady at 96c).
Now im thinking mayb the sensor which monitors the temp is beginning to go and is giving a faulty reading?

BTW the outside temp for those numbers are usually below zero C degrees. (its winter here lol)

Any suggestions or anyone with similar issue and their fix, please post

Thanks everyone!

Shut the heat off. Does it go down fairly soon? If it does stop worrying till spring. I'm noticed that the warmer I turn on my heat the warmer the car runs. It varies 5 degrees F from heater off to as warm as it goes. Damnest thing I've ever seen. I can only imagine that up there the heater hasn't been off since September.
