Couple questions
I just bought a used '05 Cobalt sedan Automatic. It's a Base model, I think it's 2.0 (not sure) Has 38K mi. Have only had for about a week now and am trying to get accustomed to the MPG display. How accurate is it? Is it best I reset when driving city, then reset again when driving on Hwy?
And the other reading tells how many miles left till next fill up. Needle was almost on "E" then the Low Fuel warning came on. But the reading was telling me I had a little over 50mi left of gas. Well, learning from past cars I knew to trust the needle and warnig first. How accurate is that? I don't have a manuel so I'm not certain how many aprox. mi. I have left when the warning comes on.
Also, not sure if it's me or not but it seems like it consumes alot of gas. It seems like it sucks down about 1/8 of a tank just to drive about 60-70 mi (to-from work) some hwy/ with traffic and very little city driving. But it tells me I am averaging about 30-35 mpg. I dont drive crazy or fast. And other times if I come home and I leave the car with the gas reading needle on a tick mark, the next morning a start it and it seems like its then in between 2 tick marks and not on the one. (Make sense)

Welcome to the site. First off your car most likely has the 2.2L not a 2.0 Supercharged. I always reset my mpg thing on the highway so i know what I am getting on trips, but I never usually do it around town. Our cars only have a 13 gallon tank so it goes by quick.

when my low fuel light comes on i have about 2 gallons left. fillup is about 11 gallons from the time that light comes on. i find the mpg meter to be pretty accurate.

You car has an 11gallon tank, with a 2 gallon reserve.
Depends on your MPG, so it will tell you how many miles until fill up based off of the way you drive your car and your MPG.
So if your getting 4mpg cuz your flooring it everywhere, it'll tell you low fuel way before hand.
on race weekends, i maybe only get at most 110 miles out of my car....with a 50 mile trip to the track, 50 miles back...then the countless runs i do in the 1/4 (granted i get 2mpg when flooring it with the turbo)...i can expect to go through a full tank(or close to) on a drag strip night.
