Does anyone know off hand if there is a difference between a cobalt keyless remote prior to 2007?

I purchased a remote that said it was compatible with 2007-2010 cobalts. The part number was slightly different than the one I have, but the fcc number was the same so I figured it would work.

I used my tech 2 to try and sync the remote and nothing happens. I verified with my old remote just to make sure the tech 2 was working properly and it was.

The remote I purchased was FCC KOBGT04A 15252034

My current remote is FCC KOBGT04A 22733523.

I ordered it off Amazon, the description said, fits 2007-2010 cobalts excluding mine which is a 2006. But Amazon listed it as “fits 2006 Cobalt”.

Just curious if there’s a difference between newer cobalt remotes

 

Quite confident there is a difference. We went through this with another forum member earlier in the year.

For reference, my '05 is also a 22733523.
