Door issues

I dont know if this is something i should really be worried about, but about a week ago, I got out of my 06 cobalt coupe and went to shut the door and it didnt latch. I checked the latch and it was in the open position, but it wouldnt latch closed. So after opening and closing about 10 times it finally latched and hasnt done that since. Then today i go to get in my car and i pull the handle and nothing happens. I pulled it a few more times and it finally opened. I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, or if its something i should be worried about. But if anyone has some advice it would be great.

Thanks.

Got warranty still? Take it to the dealer and have them fix it.

I dont know if this is youre issue but sometimes those latches have a plastic coating on them that tear and make them not move as they should. I would get some type of lubricant and check to make sure its closing properly. You can use a screw driver and test it wil you lube it.

white lithium grease or sparyable graphite should fix that. Sounds like it might be dry and sticking, if that doesn't work, time to take it to the stealership cause your latch is boned.

I have the same problem!
I have it down to these conditions (that it happens under)
1) If I try to open the car door before I turn the car off, forget it I'm locked in the car. The only way to get out is to stick the keys in the outside of the door and wiggle it around a couple times. Or crawl out the passenger side.
When this happens the handle on the inside moves but with no resistance, it feels like its not connected to anything.
However if I hit the unlock button on the door, then the door opens fine. But once I pull on the handle without hitting the button or turning the car off then it will not work at all

The door not latching shut when I close it seems to happen with no reasoning, but if you gerab the outside door handle, and pull on it a couple times, it seems to close fine.

The fact that it only happens when I try to open the door before the car is off leads me to believe that it is somehow connected to the RAP feature, or whatever feature automatically locks and unlocks the door. Whatever it is I think its not just mechanical, but electrical as well.

To OP- Do you have an aftermarket alarm in yours
