Door Lock/Unlock Issue ?!
So here's the scenario. I get off of work this morning and go home, get my wife and kid; go back to the car and when I hit the unlock button it unlocks just fine. But ever since then it is unlocking and locking its self like crazy; then it will stop for a bit and do it again. I checked all the fuses by the instrument panel and they are fine. I replace the battery in the remote as well. Even though when the battery was removed from the remote it still proceeded to lock & unlock itself. It set the car alarm off once also. We just had a ice/snow storm last night here in Iowa, I was wondering if its a freak nature thing that will go away? Or maybe I have moisture in something I shouldn't? Any input on this would be great....I'm off warranty. My car is a 2005 Chevy Cobalt LS 4door.

haha my car is doing this as well. its because I let snow get onto the switch for the door locks on the drivers side armrest, essentially shorting out the fuse. I had to drive all the way home with the horn randomly going off until I pressed the lock button on my key remote while driving. I just unplugged the switch and its stopped doing it until I can get to the dealer for them to replace it
Could be your key fob got moisture in it, did you drop it by chance.Any moisture with salt in it is a good conductor.Leave that one in the house and take the other one with you and see if the problem persists when out of range of the one you left at home.
If you find it is the key fob then open it up and clean the contact point under the pad(black spots of carbon) and the circut board contact points.

i think your right njg5gt, i was playing with the door lock/unlock switches...and the drivers side doesn't work, the passenger side lock works but not unlock, so im going to attempt to disconnect them...any pointers on how to move the armrest without damaging something?????
there are two screws in the little cup. you'll have to remove the cover over those screws with a small screwdriver and be careful not to break it. after you take out the two screws, just pull the whole thing out and disconnect the door switches
