driver side window problums....

Well yet another problum with my car.....every other week it seems.

To day i go and start the car and roll the windows down just like every other day and every thing works fine...

i make the 25min drive to my work and i go to roll up the windows and shut sun roof and all goes to plan EXCEPT my driver side window doesnt roll up.

its acted a little funny sence friday but it always worked so i work in a some what shady place out in pontiac so i try agen and agen and agen to get the window to roll up but nothing works.

so i use my left hand to wigle the window around just trying to make something happen when i hear a "POP" noise so i stop and nothing....so i try to roll the window up while jiggle the window with my hand as best i could when it totaly just breaks and shatters apart INSIDE my door.

so now i'm like WTF what do i do??? i cant just leave the windown down so i drive back home grab the dads magnum and go back to work only to be 30min late due to the drive.

will the warrenty cover such a thing?...i know the dealer has replaced my windshield for free before will they cover this window as well????

I did NOTHING to the window with tools or anything like that...a few shakes with my fingers...nothing extreme.

any ideas or help???

Thanks.

Just don't tell 'em that you broke it while wiggling it.

your insurance should have glass coverage but since something mechanically was wrong i would go down to my dealear and explain what happened the window they wont pay for unless something gm caused which in your case it seemd the window malfuncted but good luck to you in your quest

most likely what happened is that the window cam unseated from the regulator. THey are held in by plastic clips, and if that clip broke free of the glass, then what you did by wiggling it was flex the window to much, causing it to shatter...the only other thing I can think of that would cause this is if the glass came free of the vertical track, lined up behind it, thus causing the glass to sit at an angle, which again, would put to much stress on the glass, causing it to break by you wiggling it...If that was theEither way, it is a manufacutring defect, and should be covered under warantee by your dealer, resulting in a new regulator and door glass for you. Your car should only down no more than a day, since to do a regulator/door glass install on these car only takes me 45 minutes or so, but I'm allowing for any cars ahead of yours in the warantee line...Best of luck, have a good one
