Driver vs. Passenger Strut
Driver vs. Passenger Strut
As I previously mentioned, I installed new struts on my 2009 Cobalt LT this weekend. It occurred to me today that I didn't pay attention to part number for Driver vs. Passenger when getting the struts out of the boxes so for all I know, I could have put the driver and passenger on the wrong side. The struts looked exactly the same (both and an extra bracket that I didn't use) and bolted right in as expected. Obviously I could have gotten lucky and put the right ones on the correct sides but....
If I got them wrong and put driver on passenger and vice versa, what are the risks or...would I not have been able to bolt them up? Everything went together just like it came apart....

The stock struts on mine were different because they only have one ear, for the sway bar end link, on one side. The aftermarket struts are universal and have a double ear with mounting points on both sides so you should be good.
Thanks, I noticed that when I was installing them. The Sway bar links hooked right up. I was mostly worried about some sort of engineering on the inside that accounted for Left/Right but when I looked at just the strut parts vs. the whole kit I bought, it's one strut part for left or right just like shocks so I should be good.
Thanks for the replies!
