Ebrake failure
I looked and haven't seen a thread dealing with this exact issue, so here it goes. I can pull my ebrake all the way up and it doesn't stop the car from rolling on the slightest of inclines. Took it to the dealer and was covered by warranty. Only problem is after first use it is failing again. Anyone had this issue/know of a fix?

if it has to do with the mounting piece that holds the two cables under the rear cup holders, take both cables off ( must have ebrake down ) and flip it upside down. cables will not pop out anymore.
As far as the ebrake failure again for OP, does it come all the way up or does it start to feel loose again?
May be a frozen caliper issue, or you may need a new ebrake cable that runs throughout the car.
when it was covered under warranty what exactly did they replace, and say the issue was?

It comes all the way up. They claimed that it was both the cable and the ebrake pad being out of adjustment. I will probably just take it back and let them fix it unless I get some good ideas on here.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Not sure how many members on here owned a cavalier before the cobalt but man you could pull the ebrake on the cavy and your back tires wouldnt turn at all on the cobalt it seems like it just slightly slows you down instead of stopping the tires all the way

Same thing with my car at the moment. I took it into a small shop near my house, the said they replaced the handle ( for some stupid reason) and the rear calipers. It was back to normal for a day until i left my car with the brake up over night then it was back to the same thing. I'm thinking it has something to do with moisture and the weather possibly on the cable.
I left my car in a heated garage and the cable and hand brake was suddenly fixed, left it outside in the cold again and same problem. But who knows, I'm no mechanic.
