Emergency Brake Snapped

So yesterday i came home from a midnight cruise... i park the car, turn it off, pull back on the emergency brake, then i hear a loud POP. And now there is no tension in the lever thingy, just feals loose as hell and wont keep my car from rolling back on hills, etc. Have to call in on monday to get her in the shop... Anyone ever have this happen, or know what might have happened??

It always felt weird, like at one point when i was pulling it back, there was like a soft spot where it would give really easily... well i guess atleast this is a repair that i wont have to fight them on as far as the warranty goes haha

it might not have snapped, it might just have broke loose from the bracket. i had it happen to me when i overtightened it. take off the rear cupholder and look to see if you have to cable attached

and also thanks for the tip, took the back cup holder off and sure as hell the braccket came off on one side pushed it back on and bingo! thanks again bro!

Actually the manual recommends Reverse instead of 1st, IDK why tho...

No, you should always set your parking brake, especially in a manual car, you dont need to super hulk that bitch until it wont come up any futher, but just lift it until its firm...

Going off of some things ive heard. They might reccomend reverse because that gear is rarely used and thus maybe stronger? Honestly not quite sure if you were being serious or not, but thats what ive heard about the reverse gear and it makes a lil sense.
