Empty 2nd gear
Alright this has me big time concerned...
so driving normal car shifts great no problems at all... but when i go WOT from 1st to 2nd it would grind and only find 2nd maybe 50% of the time but if i held it it would find the gear.... well today i did it and expected it to happen again but when i went from 1st to 2nd it never even ground or felt like there was a 2nd gear at all, it felt empty... i did it twice more and same results each time... driving around normal still feels great and never misses the gear...
I really think it is the 2nd gear syncro... shows all the symptoms of it and i guess today was just the day that it has finally worn our completely...
so another part to my statement/question is: i have 24k miles on my 2006, it has a K&N intake and lowered on sport lines, thats it... this same car has had the seal blow out of the tranny at 550 miles... thats tranny was replaced completely, and then the slave cylinder siezed up (leaving me damn near stranded if i didn't know how to do a 1st gear start) and that happened at roughly 1800 miles... how and what do i say to get this sucker warrantied? i am sure it has a part to do with me doing wot runs but i don't believe i do them enough to completely grind off a syncro at 24k miles...

I blew out 2nd at the track and just took it in and told them 2nd was grinding and popping out.the trans tech got in it put it in 2nd while running and let out on the clutch and second was completely gone.they warrantied the whole thing and also put in a new clutch since the original was fried from me no lift shifting.just go in and tell them what its doing

what happened was my clutch pedal was stuck to the floor... couldn't even force it up...
so in a 1st gear start which is ok to do if your clutch goes out or no longer works is you shut the car off... you should be able to move into any gear you want... if your clear in front of you you put it into 1st gear and start the car, as soon as the car starts your moving... you can't really shift but at least your not having your car towed...
my only concern is that 2nd gear is there it is just the syncro that is gone and i don't want them to blame it on me... how long did it take for them to do your tranny....

they ordered parts and had it back to me in 3 days but supplied me with a loaner
the trans tech said 2nd gear synchro was destroyed and also said hes had alot of cobalts/G5's come in for the same problem..they gave me no hassle what so ever

well i've taken it into 2 different dealerships and both of them have given me a HUGE hassle... mostly about it being lowered .... SO WHAT... one of the dealerships even charged me 47.10 to to diagnos the problem... I TOLD THEM WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS!! ... they refused to give me my key back until i paid it so i paid it and left to giant smoking black marks outta there shop!!! oops....
so over the weekend i took my lowering kit out and realigned it... so i figure i'll take it to another dealership that has no prior knowledge of anything that has happened and see what happens...
