Engine Noise

I just bought a New '06 SS/SC. I was showing my brother the engine with the hood up and I noticed a rather loud ticking/knocking sound from the engine. I have preium gas in it. It has about 900 miles on it. I was just wondering if you guys have noticed this too or if i need to take this in to get fixed.

Yes that noise is 100% normal. Remember this is a supercharged car and there aren't many supercharged models out there so people aren't used to these noises. It's OK!

You do have the noise. It's not all that loud or anything it's a light click and tick. Open your engine compartment while the car is running. You'll see now that you are looking for it. It's more noticable when the car is cold. It's all OK!

Thanks for the help, I've never had a supercharger before, the only time I've heard knocking sounds before was right before my first car ('86 cav) threw a rod. Made me a little paranoid

The ticking noise you are talking about,....it happens when the car is off to right? Like when its cooling down...? Thats when I hear it mostly...
