Engine not reaching optimal coolant temp

For the past while my 05 cobalt ss has not been reaching coolant temps of even 60°. I am unsure of what needs to be done as I’ve never had issues of cars reaching proper temps on my 30 minute drive every day. If anyone has ever had this issue please let me know what needs to be done.

It's likely your t-stat is stuck open.

Does your heat work any?, if it doesn't or is just barely warm, your hoses are not hot, and your temp is showing that low after a 30 min drive (assuming your using *c being from Canada) then your having a thermostat issue. Its pretty common, the inner seal separates and gets caught in the valve, holding it open. My ls is about to get its second thermostat replacement for the same issue because it wont get over 140-160*f (60-70*c).
