i have megan exhaust. there shouldnt be anything like this directly related to the catback from my experiences. best thing to do would be if it happens again, get an obd2 scanner to check out the cel. without that, your guess is as good as anyones on the internet

Make it happen again, find cels. I had a problem like this and its an easy fix if you have the cels I had.

YOu said this happened after you added an exhsust?
You may need a tune, or something might not be
hooked up. I left something disconected once after
an oil change and I got that.

Check to see what codes you're getting.

Your right,
whats funny is that so many times ive seen threads about CELs and no one gets the codes read and posts them.

If you REALLY want help get the codes read, if you want to go the extra yard, get autozone or adavanced, or use your own scanner and post freeze frame data too.

I just bought a Cobalt SS 2007 for my son and we experience a power loss. The "engine power indicator" came on. What could cause that?

We fixed the OPs problem simply by unplugging the battery for a few mins, his CEL never came back on. Try that
