ESC/Steering issue

on Friday of last week I got my Ignition Recall done. Took them awhile but other then that, everything was fine.

Saturday I was driving and I noticed my steering wheel wasn't centered. I merged on the highway and gave it some gas and it torque steered me into the next lane. I figured it was just an alignment issue.

I took it to get aligned and he told me the toe was way out on both wheels. Now when I hit the brakes, my car will dive to the drivers side and then ESC will kick on. I almost hit a guard rail on the highway because of this.

I am confused because I haven't had any issues like this before. I am going to take the wheels off and inspect the brakes, but any other help would be appreciated.

99k miles, 08 LNF

You leave the car alone with them?

Sounds like they took it out for a joy ride and knocked the car into something or out of whack on a huge pot hole.

Yeah, it was the dealership by my work. They told me it would only take a couple hours but it ended up taking all day...

Doesn't sound right. Drop off the car for a simple switch replacement and end up with a jacked up alignment and service stability. I would call them ASAP and start complaining. Pretty clear someone went for a ride...

If you are certain that these issues started immediately after I would start that call by asking them why there are more miles on your car then when you dropped it off....

Yeah they were the next day. I drove it home Friday night, ~22 miles and had no issues. I also drove it down to school from my house ~25 miles and it started having issues then.

and I know I did not hit anything.

Welcome to the club of dealerships ******* up your car. My GF's RS Cruze has a cracked turbine housing and ruined alternator due to the dealership recall service.

I should of just left it alone. I had no problems with my ignition but I wanted to get it done to make it more appealing for private sale.

update

took my drivers side caliper off, and it looks like its seized. the pistons were pushing the brake pads against the caliper. I couldn't get it off without a rubber mallet. Pretty sure its not supposed to do that.

Took it to the dealership that did my recall.

They tried telling me it needed an alignment. They did the alignment and relearned the Steering wheel sensor and it didn't do anything. They gotta do more research.

We should bleed you brakes, and rebuild the calipers since you have that high of mileage. You have powells control arm bushings so thats not an issue.

Didnt you say you recorded the mileage and they didnt drive it? You had toe in issues before the recall was done, your lazy ass just never got it taken care of

yeah but it wasn't ever this bad.

It was aligned, but its still locking up the brakes when they are lightly applied.

well figured out what the problem was

snapped a leader CAB bolt in the subframe. the Control Arm was dangling, so when I hit the brakes it would toe out, and the car thought it was losing control so ESC would kick on.

Now you know what these guys' diagnoses are worth. Pretty sad that they didn't see this while doing the alignment, if they did anything at all. I'd demand my money back.
