Alright trying to decide on what to do with my car.

Saturday Jan 1st:
Car started, revved to 2k then almost stalled and caught itself. Ran a little rough with a few misfires but cleared up when warm. I ran to my favorite fueling station for some 94 octane. After I filled up the car cranked for 3-5 seconds before starting, also had misfires at idle, more than normal. Checked DTCs and pulled a P0497 (EVAP System Low Purge Flow)
I then cleared the code and it drove normal for 2 days.

Monday Jan 3rd:
Car started in the morning. Sat at work all day. Long 3-5 second start, then ran clean. Got halfway across town and i heard a couple clicks, almost like trunk monkey but softer. They came from the tank/ rear fuel pump area. " Check Gas Cap" displayed directly after clicks. Then I pulled DTCs and got P0455 Evap Emission control System Leak detected (gross leak)

So what part are we talking about here? Seems like it would be a vent or purge valve or something near the tank. Especially after hearing the sound I heard. At this point I don't think it is the Evap purge selenoid on the intake manifold.

Take it to warranty if u think they will. I say u have a bad vent valve. On the emissions cannister possibly

 

Today it pulled a P0496 Evaporative Emission Sys High Purge Flow

Stills seems like it bogs a little at start. Haven't heard the noise i first heard from the tank area.

I really can't decide if I want to take it in or not. I hate the dealerships. They try to act nice, but they are as shady as we all think they are.

 

Alright do this order a purge valve from dealer cost isaround 40$

 

Any update on this thread? My 09 LNF just threw a CEL with P0497 as well.

 

Yes I'm about to get my 4th Evap Purge Selenoid. 4 years old...

 

I recently had this code too! What does the car do when this code?? My car had trouble when I filled up the gas tank & would boost low boost between 6-12psi on each gear ! Rev was higher I went back where I got tuned and they replaced the valve purge & was boosting good til 3-4 days later now it's just 1st gear

 

I don't remember mine boosting low. It would freak out after filling up and sometimes run like crap. Backfiring and crap.

I have started replacing mine every 12 months. Just got 3 sitting on the shelf for cheap.

 

I'm still wondering if this is my issue. Long starts sometimes and feels like power drops off and then kicks in. Also sometimes it never wants to push past 6k. Also while cruzing you can sometimes feel the car drop out like I shut it off but only for half a sec but it's noticeable.

I had the code once in pending or whatever it was but I have not seen it since, no CEL.

I ordered a ZZP stage 2 kit that should be here Monday so I'm going to see if that helps. If not I'll order and replace that little vavle and see what happens.
