Unhappy A few pulls, then P0496 ..

So last night I was doing a few 45mph 2nd gear pulls playing with my interceptor gauge a little. so the first 2 pulls were fine. Took off like no problems. Then i went on down the road and turned around and tried again. Same 2nd gear pull. Floor it then the car kinda 'bucks' once then i immediately let off. pull over, look around the engine bay and under the car to check for anything dripping. while i'm checking the car is idling, no problem. so i decided maybe it was some belt slip or something like that. went on down the road to head home. in 5th gear, i gave it some gas and when my boost would hit approximately 12psi the car would kinda hesitate. would a bad tank of gas cause this? i know the code is an evap code. thanks for any help.

That DTC indicates manifold pressure is leaking to the evap system or so it thinks.

Either a bad fuel tank pressure sensor or bad canister purge valve.

NGK BKR7E's.

Witt; what do you suggest I do to fix the problem? Or do you think it's possible that if I was to go out and test drive it now that it would run fine? Possibly take it in for warranty?

Definetly warranty it.

They'll connect a scan tool and monitor to make sure the fuel tank pressure sensor is in range. If it's not, that will be replaced.

If the tank pressure sensor is within normal parameters, the purge valve will be replaced.

Problem solved.

Took it in to the dealership today. They test drove it and came back saying "nothing is wrong, everything seemed fine!" and i argued "Let me drive and ride with me, I'll show you." so they finally agreed to do it my way. 3rd gear WOT was horrible. The missfire was sooo noticable. It was terrible. So we took it back to the dealership and dropped it off. Came back later and they said "well we got it all fixed up for you". they told me it was spark plug #2. they said it had 'quit working'. so they changed it out. I have NGK 2 step colder in the others, so i guess i better change that one again. they did it free of charge. Just thought i'd say that in case anyone else has this problem.
