Flex Pipe Cracked
Flex Pipe Cracked
Heard an exhaust leak starting about a week ago. I wasn't too concerned because I ordered a new exhaust from CIA. But it's not here, and may not be for a while. Got the car up today and saw the the flex pipe has a crack around it, about 1/5 of the way around it. I'm gonna nee if Gm can replace it for me, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a short-term solution until my new exhaust arrives?
Thanks team.
Thanks team.
OK, so to answer the real question I had, (temporary fix) for those that may read this later, I went to Canadian Tire and while looking for JB Weld, I found an exhaust repair kit. It included high heat putty (2000 degrees vs JB 600) and a high heat band. I put the putty on the cracked ring of the flex pipe, let it dry. Then I wrapped half of the flax pipe in the band. It all cures to a very hard patch. It sounds normal now, and should last until I get the new exhaust!
