I had the same problem with my SS/SC - when it is cold outside the front end made an awful squeeking noise. Finally (after taking it to the dealership like 10 times for the same problem and telling them EVERYTIME what the problem was) they finally figured out what it was and fixed it. It was exactually what I told them it was, which is the resolution I found on this site for the same problem. It was the sway bar bushings, and after they replaced them I haven't heard one squeek or pop from my front end.

I posted up a GM bulletin that addresses most if not all of the possible noises in the front end of our cars. It describes 5 or 6 different problems that GM is currently aware of. Heres the link, just scroll down.

Its the weather. My rear cracks and pops. But then again it's 2 degrees right now. When It warms up, the noises will go away.
