Fuel delivery problem? Or a vacuum leak?
Hi everyone, i'm new to the forum. There may already be a post on this topic, but I figured i'd give it a shot anyway. I have a 05' LSJ with 93k on it and i'm having problems. The previous engine had a seizure due to an unknown oil pan crack (car just stalled in the drive through, started back up and then it was over, no warning). Immediately following the new crate engine that was put in (same engine), all the old components including the blower were put back on professionally. The moment i drove off the parking lot i gave the car partial throttle and it kicked and bucked and bogged down. Needless to say i was pissed. So after dealing with the shop I took it to autozone and ran the OBD II scanner on the car. A lean code was pulled, heated oxygen sensor, and another O2 sensor code, for the one before my cat. I replaced it, along with my fuel filter because the car was starting hard from a cold start. NO dice. I believe it to be a vacuum leak and i'm getting a smoke test done within the next few weeks to see if i have a leak. The car goes nowhere while climbing a hill, pedal to the floor, no whine, no power. When i give the car partial throttle it sits at 5 LBS and takes around 2-3 sec. to start whining. But if i hold boost at 0 LBS and hammer on the throttle it will slightly pull and whine. I've been told it could be a vacuum leak, bad bypass valve, or something to do with fuel. Any ideas?
id make sure everything was plugged in properly. all the harnesses, sensors ect ect. just to rule out something easy that the shop may have forgotten to do
also don't forget it is a new engine, its breaking in. but it shouldn't do those things.
