Fuel Line Issues

Hey Guys

I have an 06 Cobalt SS 2.4

I recently took it into the dealership for a gas leak/smell, They installed a new fuel pump under a recall I was unaware of

However, within a week my car was leaking and smelling worse then before, so I took it back and they said all of my fuel lines are rotted out and they need to be replaced at $900

Anyone have this issue or know of it?

Then they said cobalt owners qualify for GM employee discount for a new car until 10/31

Jesus, replace them with AN lines rated for fuel you'll save a lot of money that way.

^ I haven't done it, but it can't be THAT hard.

Sounds like you need a second opinion. They just want to sell you a car. BTW, that was a legitimate recall.

Common problem on our cars in the northeast and winter states, ill be doing mine within the next few years as my fuel lines are almost completely rotted out last i was under there for a fuel filter. You can get the kit for 158 dollars on rockauto, full stainless steel lines and braided teflon where required.

You can just replace the line section that's broken with a hose. My guess is when they pulled everything apart they had to bend them and since they were weakened they gave out after that.

I just looked that up, is it for Cobalt ? Cause I don't see it listed for Cobalt.

I should check mine. My fuel line definitely rusted a hole through it and had to be replaced a few years ago. Roughly under the driver’s door area.
