Gentlemen... I need some help with GM warranty...
if that is the case, please do some reading on this forum.
you don't NEED to run a one step colder plug, however your car will run a lot hotter, therefore it is recommended by many people to run a one step colder plug...
99.999% of people running stage 2 have also swapped for one step colder plugs... I wonder why.

I forgot the 3.1 pulley makes massive amounts of boost
I am on stock temp plugs on a 2.9 16lbs boost.
was on stock plugs before i got tuned with stage II tune and a 2.9 didnt have any KR till i maxed the injectors at 6500rpm
one step on stage II can cause idle problems in some cases.
i keep reading how people are having problems when they put in new spark plugs, how much does gm charge to put spark plugs themselves. Not that i dont know how to do it, i just dont want to have a problem where it messes up and im screwed.
read it, learn it, love it, it worked for me. call lemon law its free and wont cost u anything. i went through 5 super chargers (never beat on it during the 1.5 months either) in 1.5 months and had a water leak that came through the Onstar speaker took them 7 times to finally fix, and the water leak staind the recaros. and they only fixed it cuz i called lemon law. good luck https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/problems-service-maintenance-69/magnuson-warranty-act-205340/
o and a zex plugs tend to lean out i had em to

Thank you though.
The smaller pulley causes the blower to spin a lot faster creating more heat.

Jesus christ let it die, It is not a big deal to me either way. I don't give a **** to find threads where people have recommended one step colder plugs!
it is not a big deal to me to prove you wrong...
How about if YOU wish to search, prove me wrong?

I swapped to 1 step colder plugs, because the people who tuned my car for my mods and setup (Not GM) have their own engineers, who reccomended it.
I have a few comments on this thread.
1. So many people fail at reading. He is in Canada. In Canada there is no Magnuson-Moss Act to protect them.
2. Properly torquing spark plugs requires a torque wrench. The old hand tight + 1/4 turn is FAIL. I hand tightened a spark plug then did 1/4 turn, then checked torque; it was at 10 lbs! The plugs should be torqued to 15 lbs!
3. The ZEX plugs are junk. There have been tests done that show multiple electrode spark plugs do not improve spark at all, in fact they cause less spark.
4. There have been many engine failures due to people running ZEX plugs.
5. There is no reason to run 1 step colder plugs in a stage 2 daily driver. If you drive the car hard all the time, then sure 1 step colder plugs are a good idea. But if you drive normally 95% of the time you should stick with the stock plugs. By running 1 step colder plugs on a GM stage 2 daily driver you will cause the combustion chamber temps to be too cold during normal operation causing deposit build up.

I don't think the plug hit the piston because it was over torqued. I think part of the plug may have broken and fallen into the combustion chamber if anything. Could have just been detonation that blew up the motor, hard to really tell without knowing more details for sure.
