Getting a new(used) motor!

In early december I had a small underhood fire. I was driving along and lost all boost. Accelled for a sec and built 1.7lbs of boost. Pulled over and flagged my bro over(Who was behind me in his 03 Gran Prix GTP). When he pulled in, I pulled the hood latch but was still sitting in my car. He looked over and said "Dude, something is smoking under your hood!." When I opened the hood the flames went crazy. After burning for almost 10 mins I found a water hose and put it out. The store I was at had called the fire dept. So I trailored it home and called my insurance. There was oil all over the motor and the dip stick was hanging out. The oil is what was burning all over my motor. After a few weeks they oked sending it to the shop. With a pay out of $1700 To fix the burnt wires, fuse box, hood, cowl panel, etc. After the shop got it, the did a compression test they told me the #3 Cylinder was 100psi less the the rest with a Turn over test, They could not get it to run to get a good test. Now the insurance bought me a used motor from Florida with 22,000 miles and no supercharger. Which is fine because they are just gonna swap over mine with the 2.7" pulley on it. I get to keep the original motor whish I believe has some piston damage in Cyl. 3. Hopefully it's salvageable and can be rebuilt, maybe into a full out bullet proof motor. So now I get a newer motor, all my stage and aftermarket parts swapped over, and the service tech is gonna look at my transmission and slave cylinder cause I've been having some clutch pedal pressure issues. Hopefully the car will be in tip top shape when she comes back. I love riding my 06 Yamaha FZ6 but, DAMN I miss the SS! And it's cold this time of year on a bike. Anyway, just wanted to post my fortune and see how many other people have had this dipstick/cylinder issue? Thanks guys!

Good luck! So, the dipstick popping out caused all of that?

I never had that problem but I do agree with building a bullet proof engine.

Well Kinda, I had a horrible exhaust leak and my car seems to run incredibly rich, somehow when the cylinder rings went out and the fuel and flame went around the piston it sparked through the broken downpipe and ignited the oil that was simultaneously spewing out! That is all I can come up with?

Well its in the mid-upper 30s at 6:30 when I leave for work and VERY humid here so it's like 30degree wetness hitting you at 70MPH!

It's just my luck, about a month after my car crapped out, I laid my bike over in some wet leaves turning. Luckily it's ok just scratched.

I don't think there is any major damage to the engine. Even if there is a problem with #3 and it scarred the wall, for the 2.0 you will just need to replace the sleeve and problem fixed.

Wll, if that's the case, I'm going to either have to start a buildup or I will have a motor for sell. I might fix the cylinder, piston, and rings and put it up for sell.

No we are waiting on the the boost regulator valve? (it's the black circle thing that control the boost bypass) Apparently they don't have any made and we have dibs on the first one. I've been without my car since like Dec. 15th and I'm miss her alot LOL
