GM tech help needed

i need help from a tech that works for gm, more than likely he or she will be the only one who can get access to the information i need.

im planing on pulling my tranny and replacing my ssecond gear synchro and possibly the shift fork for first and second, but i need to konw if the gears are pressed on the the shaft or not, the service manager at the local dealer says he would imagine anything after second gear is pressed on but i would like to know for sure. so if anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it.

You should get the factory Service Manual for the Cobalt for detailed instructions on rebuilding the main components of your car. You won't have to wait for answers on the web that way either. How to order one is in the back of your owners manual. Chilton or Haynes general maintenance books are not as detailed as the factory manual.

by the way there is like 10 pages of special tools yu need to do this... so I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you really know what you are doin
