ok well ive been paying attention t owhen it grinds now and i noticed its only when im downshifting from 3rd at higher speeds to slow the car down for a a turn or w/e...maybe i shouldnt be downshifting so early??

it would depend on the speed maybe. engine breaking isnt that dramatic on your engine/tranny. however if you are moving too fast for the intended gear youre downshifting to, the tranny might reject it. hence the grinding of gears, if youre trying to downshift from 3rd to 2nd at 65mph the gear lever wont engage into 2nd, however, if you continue to let the clutch back out while not entirely into 2nd, you will grind. it kinda makes sense.

your 2nd gear shouldnt grind because of the higher RPMs it will go to. this is just retarded and GM needs to beef up this POS tranny, i heard its only rated for about 100 ft/lbs of torque factory, and what the LS/LT have like 155 tq, SS - 160 something, SS/SC - 200. So IMO they need to get their **** together.

they're rated for 170 trq i think..

as far as them being weak.. there are cavis pounding the hell out of these trannies daily

Well still, i definitely dont have 170tq but too much higher, maybe I just got a bad tranny.

i'm not saying they're bullet proof.. hell mine grinds.. however my clutch master cylinder went bad and it started then.. so i think it's mostly due to that.. i'm just saying they're not as week as everyone thinks they are
