Had my first problem today

Well I've had my 06 ss/sc since september and have had no problems other than the weird idle which for wich they flashed the computer when I brought it in for the first oil change. But yesterday I was driving home, and shifted into third and the top of the damn shift knob came off! It looks like it's held in place by three small rubber clips which are broken. I took it to the dealer who has ordered a new knob but I'm still kind of disappointed who expects a knob to break!

the srt 4 knob is pressed on so it feels tight when it is new but it does lossen and fall off.
there acttualy is a video of a SS/SC racing a SRT 4 and from the view inside the SRT 4 you can see the driver slam the car in to second and the knob come off in his hand it was pretty funny.
and my knob top came off too. i just glued it back on.

I was thinking about super glueing it but I don't think I should have to for a brand new car so I ordered the new knob. I just hope that the new one dosn't break 2 months from now lol. On the upside I ordered an AEM CAI yesterday so all is good in the land of cobalt right now.

This was a problem on the Redlines also. There was a TSB # for it put out by Saturn/GM. Looks like the Cobalt is having similar issues.

8 rounds of bare-knuckle boxing ought to settle it.

I looked to see if this was a repeat thread...sure enough I found it. I thought I was the only one this happened to!! I was comin up on a redlight, and it changed back to green so I shifted into third and sure enough I hear something hit my door, I pull into the Sheetz to see wtf fell and hit my foot....I turned my light on, it's the damn knob!! I was pissed.... Surprised I'm not the only one this happened to... I'm going into work tomorrow and ordering a new one, just because its a brand new car, i shouldn't have to superglue the damn thing. It's under warranty and its convenient since i work at the dealership I got the car from. Still pissed me off though...
