help with fan diag. overheating
Car starting overheating tonight, got up to 220 degrees at a stop. Coolant fanes not turning on, drove with a/c all night (delivering pizza's one night a week for xtra cash) and was ok with a/c on. So I know the fans work.
I swapped around all cooling fan fuses/relays with others that work fine. No change.
So does this mean my coolant temp sensor is bad? If so how can I check it? And on a 07 2.2L Where is it located?
Any help appreciated!!

220 isnt quite overheating. at 221, fans only come on at 50% power on the lsj. i imagine its similar on the 2.2
but if it bothers you, anytime you hit come to a stop, just turn the knob on the ac. the ac doesnt even have to be on, just turn the knob and itll stay at the normal operating temp like your cruising.
do you know for a fact that the fans dont come on at all?

220 is NORMAL temp. If fans come on when AC is on then you should be fine.
Ive had the car up to 248* around the track and it was just fine. And cruising around at 230* when the fan burnt out on me.

i personally dont like the "idea" of going over 212, just because its the boiling temp of water, however, coolant boils at higher temps anyways and i believe it helps that the system is pressurized. but whatever.
but some new cars are set to run that all the time. like the cruze runs 220* for efficiency i believe
