Help me please! Blown Clutch?

Hey I have the ss s/c and the other night while racing when I shifted from 1st to 2nd the engine rpm held around 6k for 3 or 4 seconds then dropped down to around 4k and went through the rpm band like normal, then last night while racing again it did the same thing except it didn't drop back down to 4k it went to redline and bounced off of it so I switched to third to try and get out of it but it did the same thing in 3rd so i let off the gas and it then went through the rpm band. I also after popping the hood smelled something unusaul from the engine most likely clutch is this what the problem is or could it be something else. I took it to dealer today they said that they couldn't even check it out b/c the guy driving it to test drive it wouldn't take it that high through the power band and it only does that while shifting hard normal driving is fine. I am so confused and don't want to spend a grand on a new clutch if it isn't the problem. Thank you for responding.

Take it back and take the tech for a drive but if it is blown they prob won't cover it.

Thing though is I haven't really pushed it alot. P.S. There are three clutches out already, exedy, centerforce, and spec. I was told to get the exedy and that it is a great clutch.

if there is air in a hydraulic clutch system it can keep the clutch from fully ingaging allowing it to slip.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I brought it to the dealer and they are replaceing the clutch, fly wheel, slave cylinder, pressure plate and bearings. I took the tech for a drive cuz they also wouldnt beat on it to make it slip

<if there is air in a hydraulic clutch system it can keep the clutch from fully ingaging allowing it to slip.> -

thats wrong

The pressure plate spring holds the pressure on the clutch disc. the clutch pedal releases

the pressure through a master cylinder and slave cylinder. If there was air in the system

it wouldnt release completely and would grind into gear.

fyi

You cannot have air in the clutch line because the slave cylinder runs off of the brake master cylinder so if you had air in the line you would also have it in the breaks and your peatle would be mushy!

Wow slippage right in the peak of the powerband. Sure it wasn't the tires? Was their an oder?

If you're capped at 6500 then how the hell do you notice slipping with only 500RPM's difference?

you never tell the dealer you were racing your car if you want them to cover it under warranty

For most of us that experience this it isnt just a one time thing. I get slippage regularly. The clutches in our cars are crap.
