high idle after cleaning TB

okay so i cleaned ou the tb today and put everything back into its place started the car and my rpms are 1800-2000 at idle they don't slowly drop down to 800-900 where it would idle before and when i press clutch in it wants to jump up about 100 rpm. when i give it a rev i noticed it takes longer than usual to drop back down. i have no CEL there isn't a vaccum leak. the only thing i can think of is that it needs time to relearn. i haven't disconnected the battery yet but i did unplug the computer and replug that and it didn't help. anyone have an idea for me to try and resolve this problem

If resetting the battery/pcm doesn't work, make sure you did not bend the throttle plate. If it does not sit flush when closed, you'll get a high idle.

That throttle plate has to close flush or the high idle problem will occur.
The pcm comands it closed and zeros the position of the throttle plate on startup every time and if it is not seating properly to much air will get in and raise the idle.
It doesnt take much.

just an update i took the car to the dealership and the did a dianostic on the car then relearned the computer that worked for a whole 5 mins so they ordered me a new throttle body they believe that the carb cleaner i used damaged the idle air and throttle body position sensors so i'll let yall know if thats what happened. and of course they wanted to blame the injen intake i had before they did the dianostic.

Theres no way that ruined your TB unless you were spraying it all over the place like a maniac.

i know it didn't bc the new tb had the same thing going on. so they just tuned it to not idle that high.
