Problems/Service/Maintenance Do you have problems with your new 2.0, 2.2, or 2.4L? What kind of service did you have done?

How can you tell if you have bad Mounts?

How can you tell if you have bad Mounts?

I've been having this horrible clunking noise for as long as i can remember with my 06 Cobalt SS 2.4L

I was convinced it was the struts and/or strut mounts but after replacing both of those the noise continues whenever i go over a bump, uneven road, or even i i am generally hitting my breaks

Does this sound like it could be possible motor and/or trans mounts?

It is def coming from the front of the car and i can feel the vibration in the gas or break pedal when it makes the noise

any suggestions?

Thanks
Matt

Check the lower control arm bushings, the rear ones are pretty wimpy from the factory.
Very common problem one these cars.....

Matt,

Looks like you got a good suggestion from DaBuzzard - keep us updated on if that turned out to be the issue! If you decide to get this looked into by a dealership, please let me know.

Best,
Sarah
