How do you remove this part of the dash?

I got my windshield replaced a few weeks ago, giant rock hit it on the hwy. Now I notice that the dash is raised and it vibrates and rattles, driving me nuts! It doesn't show up much in the pic, but if you compare it to the black window line you can see how it is raised. How do you get this part off? without breaking it and scratching my pillar, It looks like they scratched my pillar a bit while putting it back in.

Well I could do that eventually, but I would rather not deal with them. And if I had them fix it, they would probably scratch my car up more. I've had bad experiences with letting people touch my cars. Rather do it myself thanks. They would just give me the "its not gonna fit perfectly" oem replacement windshield speech anyway.

I get what your saying I feel the same about taking my car in for anything BUT If someone jacked my car up they will fix it one way or another.
Good luck Might have something about it a service manual if you can find one

AFAIK the pillar covers should come off before the dash panel.
Guessing they took a shortcut and didn't do that, makes it tough to get everything back in its proper place.

If the passenger side seems to be ok, take the drivers side pillar cover off and see if you can get the dash panel back into its proper alignment then pop the cover back on.

Or take it back to them and insist (politely, mind ) that they make it right.

are you talking about the front piece of trim against the glass? the defroster grille?(I cant see pics)

You remove the pillar covers then it just "pops" off. Youll think youre gonna break it. Just use a wide stiff tool to remove it(stiff putty knife, plastic pry tool, etc) by prying up on the edge closest to you.

Yeah it is the defrost grill thing against the glass, it is bowed pretty bad and loose. They probably didn't remove the pillar first, which is why my pillar is scratched. I have the RPD, how much does that mess much with the pillar removal? - thanks for the info so far guys.
