How many quarts of oil does the LSJ need? I'm going to do it by myself in a bit for the first time but i need to go buy the oil.

It ranges from 6 to 6 1/2. Put in 6 quarts. Start the car and let it run for a minute and then check the level on the dipstick. Add if necesary. If you have not changed the oil before on the LSJ though, I will warn you now that it is very tricky to get the filter out.

It's really not that hard. With decent lighting, the proper socket, and a good long extension for your ratchet, it comes out easy.

Pull the filter out from under the SC ,There is access there.
Watch you dont damage the wires on the connector with your socket and extension getting at the filter.
The oil filter cap should stay attached, and reattach it to the new filter.
It just clips in.
Also slightly lube the O ring on the filter before installing it.

Torque for the filter cap and drain plug is only 18 ft/lbs

Heres the link to the how to

it depends how big your hands/arms are

i can barely get my filter out, it's kinda a pain in the ass. but, it's not too bad. better make sure your car is cool though if you value the skin on the top of your hand

Everytime my brother changes the oil in my car (he's a GM tech) we go back and forth over the oil... he puts in 6 quarts and it doesn't register 'full'... I drive the car home (12 miles over a mountain) let the car sit, and BAM! "Full"!
