How to tell if clutch is slipping?

hey guys,

i think my clutch is going....can't be sure though. is there a way to tell? can i do sometrhing to test the integrity of the clutch?

someone told me to put it in 4th..bring it to 2500 rpm and punch it...if i go nowhere quickly and the rpms shoot, that means my clutch is going.

wellll, this morning i put it in 4th, had it at like 2300 rpms and gave it a quick shot (i was in traffic, but really wanted to know)... it gave a little chirp before i let off...does that mean im screwed? lol

i dont hear any chirping in any of the lower gears though on normal driving...but i feel as though when i want to get going sometimes, it feels stalled....when im in 2nd or 3rd and punch it, ill accelerate well, then it seems as though i lose traction and momentum for a moment, then pick it up again....but i dont hear my tires, also, i dont hear the chirping.

what should i do to decipher whther or not it truly is my clutch?

thanks guys!
