how would this have broken?
I have a 2009 SS Turbo. I had the hood up changing my oil this morning and noticed that a hose running from the engine to the airbox, which has a plastic fitting on the end where it connects to the airbox was off. The plastic fitting was snapped right off. I had no codes, car was running normal. I would not have even noticed it had I not had the hood up. Car is being fixed right now under warranty. I was told that this hose is just to filter exhaust gases through the air box as opposed to right into the atmosphere. Basically an emissions thing. How on earth would this break though? I am trifecta tuned so I am putting out 23psi, but Im assuming those hose wouldnt break unde high boost. I really dont know anything about cars so I'm curious how it would have broken off and if it affects performance at all?

can it be related to increased boost pressure? and does it affect performance at all. Or is simply an emissions thing?
I'll upload a picture into this thread to show exactly what piece if someone can tell me how to so do.

So I did plenty of research. Determined what this part is and how it broke. But can someone please tell me how it possible that my PCV valve could have been snapped off for 1-2 months without throwing a CEL or my car running different.
The car seemed to be running fine the entire time. Could this have caused damage driving around without it connected? You would think I'd get a CEL or it would run bad.

(P)ositive (C)rankcase (V)ent.... its not a monitored emissions device thats why no code. all it does it vent off the blowby gasses out of the crackcase. you could take it off and put a filter to vent to atmosphere with no prob, thats how my old saturn was. the small bit of oil seepage is because its venting the crankcase.
