HUGE Pulsation On Girl's LS..

Hey guys,

So, last winter, my girlfriend drove her LS coupe into a highe rock at the bottom of her driveway when she slid on the ice. It fucked up the whole front bumper and destroyed a good portion of her cooling system. We took it to a "respected" local shop and they did a horrible job. They didn't plug the fan back in or bolt the headlights down. And it looks like the bumper was painted with a paintbrush. Regardless, it was MOSTLY fixed. We seemed to've gotten a lemon in the braking department because the rear brakes are always fucked up, but the fronts at least generally work..

The past month or so, the car has developed a rumble when you're on highway speeds.. We just assumed it was because of our horrible highways, or the fact that it might've needed re-alligned or something from the accident since I'm sure that piece of **** shop didn't check the frame.. But the other night, she asked me to drive home and I did.. On the highway, the cars pulsation got worse and worse.. It's to the point where if you don't hold the wheel straight the steering wheel basically shakes around.. And you can definitely feel it in the pedals and even the floor/dash..

A friend of mine suggested a wheel bearing..? Any other ideas..? This **** sucks..

Thanks!

I don't think so.. It basically just hit only the front grille area.. We do have pretty intense pot-holes around here though.. lol

It's only a rumble in the front? Cuz if you've got a loose/broken tie rod that could be the cause. And the next step from there is one wheel turning completely sideways while ur driving. Alignment would be a good thing to check and wheel bearings could also be the contributor. Problem with front end vibrations is it could be one of 5 different things. Your best bet is to get it into a shop (preferrably not the one you already had it at lol) and have someone take a look at the front suspension.

hmm idk the pot holes could do it. My one rim has a small chip out of the lip of it from a massive pot hole that had just shown up over night or something. I went around blind corner saw it, said oh ****, i no time to miss it and slammed the ****** i was just happy my rim didnt didnt get bent from it...... but all i can think of is really bad front end alignment or a bent rim idk if wheel bearing will do it, on our 91 explorer we had wheel bearing go bad and it didnt shake but we sure as hell could hear it it sounded bad like crunching and weird noises

This might sound like a stupid thing to check, but make sure the lug nuts on the wheels are tight.

I had one come loose one time and it shook the whole car like you wouldn't believe.

Check the suspension to make sure nothing is loose or damaged.

Check the wheel nut torque.

If everything is good, it may just be that the tires are out of balance. Occasionally you will lose a weight and that can cause some serious vibration.
