IAT2's are all over the place
IAT2's are all over the place
normla driving for me at the moment the iat's are usually at 105-120 (texas heat)
well usually when i give the car gas like -10 vacum the temps will go down... well sometimes now they do and sometimes they dont... so i popped my hood and my opt B tank has more coolant in it then normal.. and its bubbling alot.. i feel all the lines and there is coolant flowing.... and yesterday i leave my car sitting for about an hour and when i get back in and start driving the IAT's are at 150 and i drove for about 10 minutes and it went down to 120 for like 30 seconds then shot up again....
cooling mods are OTTP H/E CAI(i guess lol) and option B

i thought option B was suppose to get rid of all that air bubble crap... im pretty sure my pump works cause i can hear it and there is coolant flowing
Kyle, I think I know how to get the air bubble out if that is indeed the problem (will need trip to auto zone).
If that is not the problem then you and Jorden probably installed your option B wrong and you should probably go with option C now...

My car is acting up to man. I also have the same cooling mods as you.
I'm starting to think my pump is on it's way out. I feel coolant flowing when I grab the lines on most occasions, and on others I can squeeze the hoses and feel no coolant at all. It just started acting up last Friday. It's been driving me nuts!!

This morning I did a pull onto the highway, and my IAT2's dropped nice and fast. The rest of the cruise to work they were perfect. Last night on my way home from my girlfriends they wouldnt drop below 120*F, and my IAT1's were around 60-60*F. It has been driving my nuts!
I just bought a house, and dont have the money for a pump. I'm going to tap the pump with a rubber mallet this afternoon. It is 4 years old now, and prob clogged up from deposits left from the brushes. I'm also going to manually burp my opt. b tank. If none of this works I guess I'll have to pick up a new pump. ZZP sells them for around $110.

I open the cap and lift the tank up. Air will travel to the highest point. This is why you want the Opt. B tank to be the highest point in the cooling system.
The Opt. B tank does a great job at bleeding air, but sometimes it is a bitch to get it started. I always manually bleed it to kind of "jump start" the air bleeding process. It has always worked for me in the past. I just don't understand why it has all of the sudden started to act up.

I did the same thing. When i first installed the dual pass and option b nothing was coming out of the bleeder line. I lifted the tank up for a few seconds and then the system started to purge itself own it's own. I'm surprised that none of the how to's or instructions from gm mention lifting up the tank to get things started.
it took mine a couple days to bleed all the air out of it... I would do it for a bit at a time here and there. If the system is making a gurgling noise, then there is air in the system.
If you have the bleeder line hooked up to the top of your stock HE, then you should not have to do anything. You can try just taking the cap off of your option b tank to let the air out if you want, but you should not have to lift it up or anything like that. I had some IC troubles a while ago which had me questioning whether or my IC fluid was flowing or not. So, I repaced some of the lines with clear hot water heater hose so I could see. Just an idea.
