Idle A Little Off?
Ok guys. Here we go. Before my car goes out of warranty, I'm taking it to the dealership to get a few things looked at. But I've noticed something and I want to make sure I dont sound retarded when I go there.
When I sit for a few seconds, I've began to notice the car feeling like it's hesitating a tad at a steady idle. Kinda feels like a pushrod motor where you got the little bit of feedback from the old school set-up. But then when you pull out, it's fine. And we're talking about running temp too. Never had the issue before. Car is running fine, there's no CEL's, cars still getting good MPG, I just want to make sure. Sometimes that happens if you get bad gas, but this has been steady for about a month. I always run 93, have an Injen CAI, run Mobil-1 synthetic oil, etc. In other words, it shouldn't be happening. I still have 50% oil life on the Mobil-1.
Just trying to get a little friendly advice. Thanks.

Have them do a misfire graph on their tech2 , mine has an idle misfire that won't set a code but you can feel a little pufft in the exhaust every once in awhile. I've tried just about everything with my dealer except swapping out injector's ,

Yeah, it's got 35k on it now. I drive. ALOT. lol. I was gonna get new plugs soon anyway. Should I change anything else too, or just plugs? What kind of plugs? Money doesn't really matter since they're not expensive anyway...

Ive changed fuel filter's , air filters , intake , maf and have run a ton of injector cleaner threw it . I took the injector's out and cleaned them and made sure the rubber o rings were seated and clean . Had the cat replaced ......that made the most difference . It never misses when under throtttle , only at idle so i'm sure that it's nothing serious , the only way i found it was because i have access to a tech 2 .

Really? Can anyone give me a list of things I should have them do like that for this check-up? I'd like my Cobalt to run at tip-top shape... Sounds odd, but can stuff like that throw CEL's? I have a CEL come on at WOT sometimes, but then goes away when you restart the car... And it shifts really hard while it's on. WTF is this??

^^ My dads Monte does that too. But it sounds cooler on his car. lol. He's got the 3.8 and I put a Dynomax dual exhaust on it (replaced factory duals). Really low and burbly. sounds about 80x better than any other GM 3.8 I've ever heard. It kinda sounds like an old 305 at idle.

I'm leaning towards the MAF sensor because the injen CAI have and oiled filter and that could be getting on the sensor, I have the same idle problem and i also have the injen CAI, i'm going to clean the sensor here and see if that makes a difference and i'll re-post on what happened. But it seem like my sensor isn't reading enough air entering and cutting fuel supply then is jumps around on the idle until it balances out and its been cold as F***k here the past month and a half like -13 to a high of 20.

^ Hasn't been THAT cold here (fluctuating between 20-30 with dips into 10's), but yeah. I was curious about that. Seemed fine before, but I got it late summer/early fall, so I wasn't sure what it'd do in the winter. I did buy the intake used as well, but it never gave me any issues until more recently. I'm sure alot of it is due to the cold...
