i'm having problems with the oil life meter
I wouldn't trust that thing more than just a guesstimate as to how old your oil is.
Plus it doesn't tell you how much oil you have, just how long it's been in there and how dirty it probably is

umm...I think you may need to go have your oil changed now. You probably have too much oil now since you added some. The meter uses a percentage rate of what it thinks the oils stability is at. You should changed your oil every 5000 miles, only use Mobil 1 and check it about once a week. You use the dipstick to tell how much oil you have.
The oil life meter doesnt take a sample of the oil thats in the car. From what I understand it makes a calculation apon how far its been driven, possible temperatures and the driving conditions. Dont quote me on that though
I reset mine when I get an oil change just so that if the dealer looks at it with a quick view they dont tell me I need an oil change. Other than that I dont bother. I get a regular change and when the time is coming up it usually says like 45%
I think its more a "dummy light" for the people who don't remember.
