Injen CAI

I had an injen CAI installed back in Nov 06, well it started to rub on the hood mount. After fighting the shop that I had install it and Injen, I finally received my new one and am going to install myself. Anyone else have this problem -- how to fix?

Not sure why the hood mount would be hitting the intake..?? I installed mine myself (highly recommended) and have no problem with rubbing or clearances. Unless they jerry riggedit somehow and slid the intake mount up too high.. otherwise i say pull it apart and see what's going on. My 05 ss/sc loves the injen.. FYI

an update to scarlet... You muct have a 1st gen injen intake. You can check by locating the injen badge, if it's on top you have 2nd gen if it's towards the side it's a 1st gen. you can call injen and they should send you a new one (2nd gen) so i've heard..

yeah i just intalled mine a couple days ago. when i went back to look at at yesturday i noticed that it was scratched on the injen emblem and part of the intake. i think im going to try and grind down part of that hood mount and then call injen for a new emblem. my install went fine(no jerry rigging or cel's) and that is the only issue.

Tis has been an ongoing problem and if you e-mail Injen you will get no response Here is a link to what I did to fix mine https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/appearance-48/looky-looky-57496/ Good luck you may have to notch the piece of framework to prevent it from happening again, and no you won't damage the structural integrity of your car...that part isn't weight bearing Also here is a link to the original Injen problem link https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/now-victim-injen-cai-woes-30690/
