Most of the time they will try to get you to front the cost, but you just have to be firm and assertive about your car being under warranty. And his mileage is in kilometers I believe..

Hi Omiotek,

Im only replying as Im curious here. I did not purchase the 5 year/ 100,000 mile extended warranty but I can see through my Onstar subscription that I do have a 5 year / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty still available and not yet expired. Its right next to some limited 6 year and 8 year emmissions warranties.

I thought the GM cars all had 5 year/ 100,000 mile warranties? I maybe under the same dillusional cloak as the latter guy responding to you though.

All gm vehicles 2007 and newer have a 5 year/100k mile powertrain warranty. If you don't believe me, look in your owners manual. I don't know where you guys are coming from thinking that the only warranty on the cars is the bumper to bumper. There's quite a few actually. Bumper to bumper, emissions, rust, powertrain, and I can't remember if that's all, and they all span different time periods.

I'm a Gm tech and can tell you that they fucked you big time. Simple fact that the dealership installed the parts guess what they are responsible for 12,000 miles or 12month for any damage done.... And I some how don't think this kit caused that damage either.

GM's coverage on supposed warranty items has always sucked, the slightest mod will screw you in the end. i just had FIFTH GEAR go out on me a couple weeks ago, now i do have a handful of bolt ons with a tune, but in all honesty........fifth gear should have never gone out nor would be effected by the mods. so i thought id try cuz i still have my 100k powertrain warranty, well big surprise (sarcasm) they wouldnt cover the transmission so 2450 later and im waiting on the transmission. sorry for you luck though bro, thats real shitty. thank god i havent had any problems with that. i think at that point i would just give up with the car. you definitely need to threaten to sue them, also call the BBB about them as well and make a report against that dealership. call or email the dealership owner and let them know that if they dont somehow make up for this bullshit call, that you will take them to court and call the BBB and make them aware of this..........dealerships/companies always care about their BBB rating.

can't beleive i hear this.. my dealership is great. just had my HVAC controls and axles replaced under warranty no questions asked. that on top of an engine, two TPS sensors, airbag sensor, ignition switch, rear pads and rotors and paint defects. towing and rental provided and no arguments. all free of charge and done well. GMS1 has not let me down yet and they only charged me $78 to have it installed and flashed. each time i go in i clean my car up so it shows it's taken care of and do my research and tell them what the suspected problem is. it always helps them fix my car. a few invoices even say "customers suspected problem confirmed"

ship your car to my dealership and they'll fix ya up!

Maybe you should have came here for help BEFORE buying a new engine and putting it in? Because I can tell you right now what you had was the infamous porous block issue. This has happened several times to the 2009 model cars. I guarantee we could have helped you get a free motor.

I didn't have any trouble getting my rear brakes or sunroof covered through warranty. Its usually a dealer that makes warranty work a pain or not. They are the ones who do the inspection and report it to GM. Some are more concerned with money and some are more concerned with hoping you come back to buy stuff.

When I find a good dealer I go back next time I'm looking for a new car or have a problem.

Thats usually how the dealer I go to treats me. Then again I do the same thing you do tell them what I suspect it to be and even request a mechanic thats trusted by some of the locals.
