I know there are a million threads on this, mostly because its an annoying problem. Just thought I would chime in. I have an 09 ss/tc and its being replaced under warranty, car only has 13k on it. Hopefully it fixes the annoyance, at least for another 13k miles.

 

they usually lsat 15k miles before they rattle but you can always jack off the shaft to get the grease flowing

 

Just picked up my car from the dealer, they ended up replacing the intermediate steering shaft and the whole steering rack. They said when they replaced the intermediate steering shaft the problem was not fixed so they replaced the steering rack. I have lowering springs, ottp steering rack spacers and ottp stage 1 rotated mounts and there was no issue with warranty.
