say im in traffic driving in 1st gear anywhere from 5 to 20 mph and whenever i let off the gas and then re-administer it i get this really abrupt jerking anywhere from 2 to 3 times before the car gets back under control.

i feel like a retard when it happens and mind you im not slamming my foot down in anyway or anything.

after searching around a bit i found that maybe some general maintenance could need updating so i went ahead and bought a new fuel filter, plugs, and i plan on sea foaming the car during my next oil change.

my question is if this is normal for these cars to jerk like this and if there is any other maintenance i should be aware of that needs doing. i have an 05 with just under 55k miles

put it in 2nd and you wont have the prob.

 

Completely normal. Get used to it. Gotta be real nice to this clutch/gas combo.

Or buy an Si. I've driven all 4 Cobalts, and the Si will be nicer to you than all of them.
