Jump it the Check Engine appered

Saturday night i had to jump my car cause the battery was dead. When i jumped it the check engine light came on. Ran it to Auto Zone real quick and it came out P2610 which is something with the internal time, i belive thats what he said. Im taking it in tomorrow to get look at.

What caused your battery to die? Chances are whatever did that (unless it was leaving your lights on somehow) was probably what caused the CEL.

Other than that i'd assume it's either a coincidence or due to your ecu being reset and causing it to throw an old CEL that had been turned off?

Im not sure myself but when we connected the cables and i tried to start it there was a weird pop noise from under the hood. and then my dash became a christmas tree with all the lights flashing. And then everything shut off. The remote wouldnt work, nothing at all would happen if i tried starting it. So we took the cables of for a bit then put them back on and then it started up and the cel came on

I left my lights on one time and ran mine down. After I got a jump a cel was on. Just something to do with PCM KAM(Keep alive memory). Basically the PCM forgot something and it's safe to just erase it. Can't remember the code but it does it everytime the battery is disconnected or ran dead.

Hope that pop you heard wasnt the diodes in the alternator, which could happen if the cables touch while connected to your car.

If it's under warranty, take it to the dealer with the "omg, this thing is a piece of junk, idk what's wrong with it" story.
