Sometimes the nozzle goes in to deep and it does that clicking I'm full thing. Did you pull the nozzel out a little. This sounds really perverted once it is out on the screen. Not intended that way......

I had a girl with a newer Cavy come into the shop with that problem a few months ago. There was an electronic vent in the tank to let the pressure out which had failed and stuck closed if memory serves me.

It's probably the angle that you're holding the nozzle at. Just let it rest against the opening and pump. For whatever reason, holding the nozzle at a high angle makes it do that.

my 05 mustang did that too. The vents for the tank were bad. But, it would fill the tank if you flipped the pump handle unpside down.

I'm not sure how that would work?

That's happened to me randomly a cpl different times. I just pumped enough gas in to get me where I was going and the next time I pumped it would be fine.

The problem is cause by the gas pump sensing too much back pressure, try not to pump with the trigger all the way down, try half. It helps sometimes.

yes i have heard the same thing. we had a car come in one time because the pressure in the tank built up so bad it actually sprayed out of the gas tank as they were trying to pump it...kinda scary.

My car has done this a couple times too, It's freaking annoying driving around just looking for a station when your on "E". I think it's a really big design flaw, also like in most cars you can pull the hold on the trigger and just rest the nozzle in the tank and not hold it. I take that time to wash the windows or something, but now i have to sit there and baby sit the pump, anyone else have to do that?

instead of using the internal vents, it used the filler neck as a vent. That was what Ford said to do, while they developed a new tank for the car.

I've had the same thing with mine and find if I tilt the nozzle on about a 45 degree angle I have almost no problems with it.
