Are the wheels cut at all in any direction? If the wheel is unlocked then that is not likely the problem but just in case you might want to try moving that around a little to see if it'll free up.

Also might want to try putting the key back all the way in and seeing if you can do anything there. Maybe try either starting the car or moving the key to different positions. See if you can get it out of park and then back in or something.

I can't help much on the auto tranny thing, but just try some different stuff and see if anythign happens.

I used to do a combination of a bunch of things...

try turning the key while pressing on the brake simultaneously and trying to move the shifter back and forth. Sounds complicated but while your doing all those things keep trying to turn the key and get it out....worked for me.

This happened to my car about a month ago. the key would get stuck in there and would come out. but it does if ya either play with it or let it sit for a min. I took mine to the dealer and he fixed the problem within an hour or so.

nope...all the way in...but like speedy chick said.....there should be a rubber cover on the side...pull that away and stick something in there. Hopefully that should release it. If not...hope you still have warranty. Call 1-800-chev USA and tow that b*tch to a dealer

This used to happen to Regal GS's we had on the lot when I worked for a dealership. It's part of the PassKey Security System. There was always a circle piece of plastic on the bottom of the steering wheel that came out and you just stick a pencil or pen in there to reset the lock. Try and look under the steering wheel for something like that, not the rubber part though...

EDIT: If you can't check, I can run outside to my car to see.

Are you sure the steering wheel isnt locked?? Thats what it sounds like to me..Can you move the steering back and forth?? If thats not the problem, try what speedychick said about the rubber cover..If worse comes to worst..Dig around you glove box and call that Chevy number..I'm pretty sure that they'll tow it free to the nearest Chevy dealer.

Not the rubber part...

Stick your head under the steering wheel, there is a plastic piece next to the rubber that can come off as well, try sticking a pencil in that!

hmm...that sucks. So it could be the problem someone said earlier and most likely not the problem I was having

would it be safe to just hook a battery charger up to the jumper points under the hood for a bit?
