keyless entry

I've replaced the battery on one of my keyless remotes cause I thought the battery was going bad. The unlock button will unlock the car but if I hit the unlock button again, the remote doesn't respond sometimes. I've tested this out on both remotes and sometimes the unlock or lock button will work correctly other times it won't work at all. If it makes a difference I also replaced the buttons pad on the remote. I'm thinking maybe the receiver on the car is going bad? any way I can test this?

Just another note I got my BCM replaced in december of 2010.

Like heathkidder said, check the battery contacts, they both could be broken.(weak contact)
Otherwise a trip to the dealer is in order.
They can check the incomimg signal with the Tech 2 I would think. There is no other way without specialized electronic equipment .

Anyone have the service manual on how to replace the transmitter in the car? I know the dealer will have to program it for the car once its replaced.

my wife broke both key fobs, just opened it up and put the battery contacts back in place and stuffed the open space with a folded paper towel to stop it from having any room to be jolted out from dropping them and its worked ever since, ghetto YES but you cant tell and its been working for a year and a half
