Exclamation Leaking Axle Seal

So I take the car in for an oil change friday..... & they discover that the right front axle seal is leaking. (I didn't even know it) They put me in a rental for a couple of days and fix it under warranty. Turns out it was a defect from factory assembly. So take a look everyone.....it wasn't much of a leak...but it was there. Props to my dealer for doing a great job and great service.

mine was doing the same, just got it fixed a week ago, also had them replace the bearing while they were at it.

My friends axle seal is leaking. Probably deformed from wheel hop allowing a leak.

The reason tranny cases crack is because of wheel hop. Wheel hop is caused by ossciliating forces in the rubber mounts. Factory rubber mounts suck.

yep i realize that wheel hop cracks them , just suprised that all the hype from GM about fixing the problem hasn't stopped it. There was alot of talk about the tranny being updated as well with stronger internals and case.... i'm guessing that isn't true . The clutch is better but i doubt they changed the tranny much.

Considering how badly most of these owners beat on their TCs, a few axle seal leaks compared to cracked bellhousings and grenaded synchros galore is a pretty large improvement.

Eh, there's exceptions to every rule. That could have been cracked during shipping or something else, too.

I haven't beat on mine at all. So mine was definitely a defect from the factory.
