Last night I got in my car and started driving home from where I was and I looked at my gauges and they were not lit up. Tried turning the dimmer knob incase I had some how dimmed them but no luck. Switched the lights from auto to manualy on and nothing. Got home and the only lights on outside of the car were the DRL's. The Taillights, parking lights, and low beams were not at all. But if I flip a turn signal on the Parking light bulb flashes like it suppose to and the tail light as well (except the driver side tail bulb is burnt out for the turn function). If i hit the brakes the lights come on.

So I am gonna look at fuses now but looking at the cover not sure which one it would be. Of not when I flip left turn on my indicator in the car flicker super fast as well ( I believe due to the burnt out bulb.)

Thoughts?

 

Maybe the switch on the turn signal, although I would think the autolights would still function correctly

 

Gonna change the bulb today as soon as the parts store opens seeing this all started when that bulb went out from there we will see.

 

its just weird it all went out.

 

Changed the bulb but same issue all the other lights are still out.

 

Blown fuse?

 

I believe its the parking lamp fuse. 15amp maybe. It runs ur cig lighter, dash lights, license plate light and rear running lights. Ur tails work with 1 bulb that switches resistances when u use the brakes or just have running lights so changing the bulb will not do anything. Check ur fuse, im almost 100% sure its ur park lamp fuse thats blown

Dont stop there. Now u have to find out why the fuse blew. Most likely its a short to ground. You really dont want to be driving at night and that fuse pops again. Ask me how i know lol

 

Oh I will. This is the first time it has happend.

 

My issue ended up being the license plate light. The salt from winter corroded all the wires. Might be a good place to start. Good luck
