LNF Valve Cover Seepage

Hi all, first time poster and long time lurker here. 09 LNF 110k miles.

Noticed this seepage a few weeks ago. I have been religious with oil changes since I got the car at 40k. Is this a sign the valve cover gasket is going?

Also see some buildup around this hose going from the exhaust manifold. The hose goes back around the brake booster or firewall area? Sorry, not great with cars..

I was going to try snugging up the VC bolts and degreasing the engine bay to see if things improve. Thoughts?

Thank you.

Dont snug up the bolts they break. Just replace the VC gasket, they're cheap and most dealers have them in stock (multiple engines use the same one as the LNF).

As for the brake booster line I have the same issue and trying to find a OEM replacement line was difficult.

Maybe for the brake booster finding a new clamp would help? I'm pretty sure I have the same issue as well on that. If you can look for the torque spec on the valve cover and re torque them. If it continues just replace it. Its a pretty easy job

It’s a common thing that happens a little RTV on the corners will make the gasket seal better. And apply it with your finger so you’re not sending a crap ton into the crankcase and gumming things up. Doesn’t matter how often you change the oil gaskets are just prone to going out over time. As for the valve cover it’s not composite so I would hardly doubt it’s warped. Torque spec is low and literally just hand tight (not overdoing it, literally till you feel tension. No more than 15 ft lbs.
As for the hose, just spray a little brake clean on it. Engine bays get dirty the hose itself doesn’t run any fluid through it is probably EGR (exhaust gas recirculation)
or just replace the hose in general.

Gonna do what another poster suggested and clean it up after changing out the clamp. The rest of the hose looks ok.

I found this thread on the job; do I need to release the fuel pressure or can I pull the vc on the LNF without doing so?

Thanks.

I did mine a few years back when I painted my VC I didn't mess with fuel pressure at all.
