What the hell!? Somebody need to slap OP in the head. Yeah, That's a dick move man! Somebody buy this car and loving it then buy this car if somebody didn't want warranty it. Oh FWAK! He'll be start blaming Dealership and Op get to walk away from this. Sounds like manipulating the whole thing. That's not what community is about. SMFH!

Really? Think about what you just did? You got rid of a car that had a cracked block and didn't say anything and got out of it to get another car. Now you have your car at the dealership and some other persons gonna buy it. They upon buying it are going to find out it has problems. They are going to look down and be very displeased with what they got. You may have even ruined someone's look on the SSs and that gives it even more of a bad rep. And you wonder why they call them stealerships? Its because of people like you. If you bought something in this condition I can guarantee you, you wouldn't be pleased one bit. I know I wouldn't be.

Now you say you got rid of when you still owed money on it. What you didn't probably realize was that you may have taken a hit and losing money that you already paid into the car. Not only that but now you have more monthly payments and possibly more money coming out of your pocket. Instead of just putting in LDK block in it and keeping your car.

But hey, you did what you thought you had to do. Have fun being a douche in a 200. Lol.

Its not that we care so much, its the fact that he's a stupid ass and goes on the forums about it. Lol.

Alrighty seems like everyone has their panties ina bunch. Didn't really want to type out the entire long story but I guess I will. After seeing the low coolant problem and couldn't figure out where it was going I took it to the dealer. They had my car for 6 days running multiple test and contacting GM in the meantime for suggestions. They told me absolutely nothing was wrong with the car and couldn't explain where nearly a gallon of coolant went. Asked a few mechanics and they said more than likely a crack at the coolant jacket. (They had previous experience with LNF's) I went home and changed the oil to get a closer look. The oil did look a bit off but it was close to an oil change but I didn't recall the oil looking like this last time. I'm only assuming it's a cracked block (thought I said that in the previous post but I didn't. Was on my phone and in a bit of a hurry. My bad, sorry). The dealer never confirmed it being cracked. The same dealer offered me $7,000 trade-in. Trading it seemed like a good idea from all the headaches and **** luck I've had. Went to another dealer and got offered $9500. So we traded. Still I don't know where coolant went and the oil looked a tad milky to me. Sorry about being vague on things..Last two weeks been shitty.

Do we really want to be part of a community that will intentionally sell broken **** to each other because we don't want to pay to play? You brought it you own, but not here. We'll just come on the boards and tell all the other cobalt owners how we screwed the man by selling him a bad balt. Oh, wait someone else with have to buy that balt sooner or later but who cares right? What if that guy needs help? What if that guy knows how to use search and finds this thread?

Like I said.. Nothing was confirmed, it's more of my own and others opinions and assumptions from the testing and knowledge we have on this car. Nobody knows what is really wrong with it but whatever. Anyone could trade in a car and have someone buy it and have something horrific go wrong with it. I've had MANY problems with this car (even 3 days after driving it off the lot). I don't think the dealer or the previous owner is for blame but to each his own I guess. It's always a risk buying a USED car with no warranty and my wife has been wanting to trade this car off for awhile now anyway. I don't feel like I need to explain myself any further... All of you that still have your panties in a twist, I guess you'll get over it in the same pants you got pissed off in. I made this post with the intentions of keeping the car but things changed. I have a wife and I respect her opinions so we traded it in.

End of story.

Sounds like you have thong strangle around your neck to be ***** riding to avoid this. If you would had man up and take actions to fight for our community to have Chevrolet to be responsible for their construction of defect. But nope, instead you get out like a little dick move that will not help us to fight Chevrolet.

If you haven't been reading all of my post then I'll have you know the problem was never CONFIRMED by anyone. Maybe I didn't take owning a SS so serious like the rest of you. A car is a car to me. And a thong strangled around my neck? << Lol. As far as I know the guy or gal that buys the car could never have a problem with low coolant again since the dealer didn't find anything wrong with it. A few complaints from obsessed SS owners isn't going to make GM do a thing. And I absolutely refuse to end up putting more money into a car than what the value of the car is actually worth. That is not how I "man up" anyway.

Yeah, Thong strangle around your neck by letting your ***** riding to pick out her ride and not you. What does that tell everybody ? You end up paying more money on the cost of your previous loan on top of the new loan. So Yes, her thong strangle around your neck while she ***** riding you. From the way I see it you ain't a man to step up instead of you rather her thong strangle around your neck while she ***** riding you from that corner where you come from. SMH

Didn't cost me hardly any more money. You have no idea what I had left on the cobalt or what I paid for the new car. And you sound like a tool about having a fit for my wife picking out a car Lmao

So you pick a compact sport coupe with a stick as the family ride and she swaps for that for a not even remotely sporty mid-size auto? Yeah, keep coming back to sell us your bullshit trade in story. You sold your cobalt, just move on. Go sell that bullshit someplace else like the chrysler 200 forums.

Cracked blocks a scary thing, I have an 09 and I dread the day it may happen to me, but it hasnt yet so I think mine is okay. 09' 83k miles, 50k mile tuned roughly.

I can understand how you werent able to afford to fix the car but I think you should have had a back up plan in place in case something like that happens especially if your modding the car. We ALL know its not the tune that broke the engine. Its the defect in the block. Yes, it should be a warrantied item and its unfortunate that GM's policy is blame it on anything you possibly can other than our product, including aftermarket radiator caps. I think what you did was not the right way to go about it. Im sure you could have fixed the car with the support of members on here. Ive seen people buy engines and some members with technical background have come and assisted them with doing the swap.

I really do think you should have had a back up plan in place though.. I have my factory tune on a 2nd ECU in case I have a problem. Too bad my warranties are expired now so I guess thats really useless now. But, Id take a small loan out to get my engine fixed if I had to. I could even take a loan out on the 401k, hate to do that but if push came to shove, I have a back up plan.
