About 40% of the time my 2.4 will do a little 100-600 extra rpm burst when I have the clutch engaged to shift into next gear. Only have 180 miles on her so I thought It was driver error at first. ie. - not getting off the gas pedal soon enough. But I tried it coasting (foot off the gas) put in the clutch and alakazaam rpms jumped up almost 600 rpms??! This is magnified when im on the car hard. Which makes for some really awkward shifts. This can't be normal. Anyone else have this problem? Guess It's time for an early visit to the dealership. Oh yeah.. whats up with the Nascar launch needed to get the car going from a standstill? What a wierd clutch.

 

You think a 2.4 is bad? You should see a SS/SC. Mine will rev a couple of hundred RPMs when I put the clutch in to upshift... and yeah... it takes some finesse of the pedals to get her off the line without bogging, slipping, or spinning.

 

Uuggh..the S/C's are worse? I feel for ya. By the way..2.4 badge looks slick on the trunk.
